Pastor and StaffMeet the Pastor
Welcome Rev. Carol Roberts to Ferris Heights UMC in February 2011. Carol grew up in Pennsylvania, but has been in Texas since 1981. After serving in the US Air Force, Carol completed her bachelor’s degree in Vocational Home Economics Education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and then worked as a County Extension Agent in Cooke and Grayson Counties. During this time she completed a master’s degree at Texas Women’s University in Family Studies. A longtime lay person in the church Carol was active in various ministries in the local church and served in numerous leadership positions. In 2000 Carol entered seminary at Brite Divinity School and completed a Master of Divinity degree in 2004. While in seminary she worked at two Fort Worth churches: Arlington Heights UMC and Saginaw UMC. She served as an associate pastor at Genesis UMC in Fort Worth for four years before going to First United Methodist Church in Killeen in 2008 to serve as their associate pastor. That same year she was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection.
Carol is in her 50’s, single, and has a 27 year old daughter named Megan who lives in Lewisville. In her spare time, Carol enjoys sewing, quilting, crafts, and gardening. She likes to bake for others.

Dawn Davis, Organist
Dawn is very active in the Music Ministry of Ferris Heights as the Organist and Pianist. She has a great personality and loves her church. She has been with Ferris Heights since January 1996. We are blessed to have Dawn with us as the Organist! Dawn is married to Johnnie and she has three children, Colleen, Kyle and Keira, they also have three grandchildren.
Angie Heck, Administrative Secretary Our church has really been blessed to have Angie in the office. She is the first face most people see when they come to the church during the week. She is responsible for the church calendar, entering and maintaining financial data and also for editing as well as printing material produced in house. She is married to Bob and they have a daughter Rachel.
Our Custodian is Harold Pointer Harold has been faithfully tending to the church plant for over 62 years. He is known for his smiling face, his wonderful attitude and his witness through his work and his words.
Ferris Heights Nursery Care Worker Melanie Marrs & Maria Cadena are loved by children and their parents alike. We seek to provide a safe, comfortable environment for small children and babies. We encourage parents to visit the nursery and to talk with them about their child. The nursery is open during each worship service and special event.
Youth Director Welcome Shannon Goretska as Ferris Heights Youth Director! Shannon is a School Teacher for WISD and loves kids. She is married to Kyle Goretska and they have 3 young boys. Shannon is excited to be the Youth Director here at Ferris Heights, she has many things planned for the Youth this Fall. Please join us on Sunday evenings at 5:00 for UMY. |
